Soccer News for Spring 2010

Soccer will resume in 2010 with the Green River League on April 24th in Pemberton for U11 and U14 teams.

The Whitecaps are coming back to hold another play with a pro camp. The camp will be in Whistler this year on May 15th and 16th. Registration will be open soon - all club menbers will be alerted.

U7 and U9 teams will start their outdoor season with the Whitecaps camp on May 15th and 16th. Registration for the camp will be coming soon.

Senior Boys and Girls will be training indoors and playing in coach arranges fixtures with Pemberton.

Financial Support in 2009

The Club would like to express our thanks to the Whistler Municipality who selected the club for a "Community Enrichment Programme" (CEP) grant in 2009 of $9500.

We also wish to acknowledge and thank the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation for a $5500 2009 grant. The grant money will be used to purchase uniforms and improve our equipment storage areas.

WYSC Andree Janyk & Bob Calladine Scholarship grant 2009

This grant, which is named for our club founders, is given annually to a graduating student from the senior boys and girls team in recognition of their achievements in soccer.

This year Takuma Ida received the Boys scholarship cheque for $500 from WYSC.

Nancy Bayly & Brynne Benbow both shared the Girls Scholarship cheque also of $500.

These awards were presented during the Graduation Ceremony at the High School by Andree Janyk.
