Thanksgiving Tournament Report

Posted by WYSC Administration at Oct 9, 2012 9:04PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

As you know this past Thanksgiving Weekend WYSC had 6 girls teams and 2 boys teams competing in over 3 days of soccer tournaments.

In the girls tournaments we had a U11, U12, U13, U14, U16 and a U18 team representing Whistler with tremendous success as our U14 won Bronze, our U12 Silver and our U13 and U16 Gold.

Our U13 Boys did a great job winning all their games and after a very close final they received a well deserved silver. The U18 Boys were all in good form and worked together well, bringing home the gold after winning all their matches.

All coaches reported that their teams played extremely well together and performed under pressure showing great team spirit and sportsmanship on the fields.

All reports from the weekend also demonstrated that the level of play in Whistler to be highly competitive with local Vancouver and other BC teams. There were many compliments received by coaches about how well our teams played and presented themselves throughout the weekend. So well done to all athletes, you should be proud of yourselves.

The Board would like to thank all our dedicated coaches for giving our girls and boys the opportunity to travel beyond the Sea To Sky and experience a variety of other soccer competitions which will expand their overall soccer knowledge both on and off the fields.

Thanks also to all the parents that support their players and encourage such a wonderful team sport as ‘the beautiful game’.
