Thanks to WYSC’s Ref-in-Chief Andree Janyk, BC Soccer has agreed to send a Senior Course Conductor to offer referee courses at Myrtle Philip School May 3-5, 2013.

Pre-registration is required, and it’s all done on-line! Go ahead and register now as spaces are limited.

Entry Level Course
The Entry Level Referee Clinic is the entry point into the Provincial Referee Program. Once an individual is successful in passing this clinic they will be classified as a Youth Referee (if they are 14 or 15 years old) or a District Referee (if they are 16 years old or older). The goal of this 2 1/2 day clinic is, through experienced referee instructors and video, to provide the knowledge of refereeing in all aspects of the game.

The topics covered include, but are not limited to, the Laws of the Game, Positioning, Signals, Administration of the game, and Preparation & Match Reporting. There is a fitness component and a written exam based on material.

Pre-requisite: Minimum 14 years old (no other qualifications required)
Clinic Length: 17 hours
Clinic Dates/Times:
Friday May 3, 2013 6 PM to 9 PM
Saturday May 4, 2013 9 AM to 5 PM
Sunday May 5, 2013 9 AM to 2 PM
Location: Myrtle Philip Community School (Lounge and Millar Room)
Clinic Fee: $125.00 (plus a $4.25 user fee / system processing fee)
Full payment needs to be made at time of registration however successful candidates refereeing in Whistler’s youth system will be reimbursed one-half the cost once the course has been completed.

Refresher Referee Course
The Canadian Soccer Association and the British Columbia Soccer Association requires all referees (other than Small Sided Referees) to attend a Referee Refresher Clinic annually and register with the BC Soccer office in order to maintain their active status.
Referee Refresher Clinics are designed to update all Registered Referees in British Columbia with any Laws of the Game changes and interpretations. The clinic content of the refresher is developed by the Referee Education Program and launched in August of each year.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please wear suitable clothing to participate in on-field activity and there will be a Fitness test at all Refresher Clinics

Pre-requisite: Must currently be a BC Soccer Registered Entry Level Official
Clinic Length: 3 hours
Clinic Dates/Times: Saturday May 4, 2013 6-9pm
Location: Myrtle Philip Community School (Lounge and Millar Room)

Clinic Fee: FREE (once you have attended a Refresher Clinic you MUST re-register as a BC Soccer Referee, which is to be done on an annual basis.)

WYSC is very fortunate to receive grant funding for participating in the Annual Pitch In Day.

WYSC designated areas are:
Creekside – pick up bags at Nita Lake Lodge carpark

Function – pick up bags at exit of Re-Use It Centre

To ensure we cover both areas:
U7, U11, U18 – Function Junction
U9, U14, U16 – Creekside

If you are able to collect supplies from the Works Yard at Nesters between 8 – 9am and drop off at Creekside and Function, please contact

Pitch In Day runs from 9-11:30am, so you can show up at anytime! and is followed by a BBQ at the Village Fire Hall from 12 noon that you are welcome to attend.

At the AGM we are seeking your support in order to adopt the new Constitution & Bylaws to repeal and replace the existing constitutional framework.

In order to make the best use of time, there will be a Visioning Meeting following the AGM. This allows all members to provide feedback and is a great opportunity to bring forward ideas, comments and suggestions.

The Board Members of WYSC want to ensure that they are representing all club members and this will be a relaxed gathering after the formalities of the AGM have taken place.

Refreshments will be served, so bring another member and come and support your club.

ALL Spring GRL Schedules CHANGED

Please note that PYSA has made changes to all Green River League Schedules for:

U11 Boys & Girls
U14 Boys & Girls
U18 Boys (Coed)
U18 Girls is still TBA by our coaches

Please ensure you check and reprint your players schedule so that you have the most up to date version.

ALL SCHEDULES ARE POSTED on under the LINKS tab on the left hand side of the page.

U18 Boys Midweek Practices Indoors on Mondays at WHS from 5-6:30pm.
This has been updated on the 2013 Spring Indoor & Outdoor Midweek Schedules as well, so please check for reference.
