U14 Boys Rep Team Tryouts - On Grass

Posted by WYSC Administration at Mar 9, 2013 11:47AM PST ( 0 Comments )

Thank you to all players and parents who have attended some or all of the last 3 indoor tryouts. There is a large pool of talented players and it is almost impossible to make a final decision based on indoor conditions only. As Coach Ian had mentioned at the first tryout session, he would likely hold a final tryout on grass, that need is now more obvious. I recognize this may be short notice for some of you. It is not mandatory, but it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you attend so that we may fairly assess your skills and knowledge on a full pitch.

2013/14 U14 Rep Team Tryout #4 (on Grass)

When: Wednesday March 13, 4pm – 5:30

Where: Don Ross High School- 42091 Ross, Brackendale ( parking lot next to field at the corner of Government Road on Ross Rd)

The Don Ross field is not ideal but all the Squamish fields are booked.

Who: Only players who have attended at least one of the previous session.

Bring: Grass cleats, shin pads & water.

Ride?: if you need a ride from the Whistler Area, let me know and I will try to find you a seat.

Please confirm your attendance prior to: croslanddoak@gmail.com

Many thanks, Ian Van Gruen + Crosland Doak
Whistler Avalanche U14 Rep

We need YOUR help!

Ironman Whistler is on Sunday August 25, 2013, so please come out and be a part of this event!

We need to know NOW if you can commit to being available on Sunday 25TH August.

WYSC relies on grant monies each year and we would like to apply for 2 x $1000 grants that the IRONMAN Foundation is offering.

To receive the grant WYSC needs to provide approx 40 volunteers to help run and host 2 Aid Stations along the route of the race.

It is really easy!

All WYSC needs to provide are:
• 2 Captains – who are responsible for recruiting, scheduling, training and supervising the volunteers in their function. (You and a friend could share this responsibility!)

• Approx 10 adults and 10 children at each station

You will be responsible for keeping the aid station going and supporting the athletes as they come through and of course, cheering them on!

Email: whistlersoccer@hotmail.com to offer your help NOW.
We need to know if we are able to provide enough volunteers for this great event and are therefore eligible to apply for 2 x $1000 grants.

Grant application deadline is FRIDAY MARCH 15TH, so please let me know asap if you are able to assist. This is an important fundraising event for us.

IRONMAN FOUNDATION Community Grant Volunteer Program
