IRONMAN 2018 - Volunteer Sign Up

SIGN UP NOW to volunteer for IRONMAN, Whistler – Sunday 29 July, 2018

For the 6th year, WYSC will be running the following stations to support IRONMAN, Whistler and we need 30 people for EACH shift on SUNDAY 29 JULY, 2018. We are fortunate to receive much needed grant money so please come out and help the club help the athletes.

Search for Run Aid Station and make sure you sign up for either:

Run Aid Station #5 Shift 1, 11:30am – 5:30pm (Captain Erin Crawford)
OR
Run Aid Station #5 Shift 2, 5pm-10:30pm (Captain Mitch Forster)

NOTE: both shifts are at the Whistler Secondary School parking lot location which is in the description when you click on the correct Run Aid station

NOTE: you don’t have to be a WYSC member to participate, so pass onto your friends!

Our youngest players will be led by the WYSC coaching team in a well-structured program. The sessions will ensure players learn and improve their skills whilst focusing on having fun, playing games and being active.

Location: Monday – Thursday @ Spruce Grove Field #5

Location: Friday @ MYRTLE PHILIP Lower fields for World Cup games

Time: 9:30-11:30am

Ages: 5 – 9 yr olds

Cost: $120 per player for 5 days,

$105 per player for 4 days (if having Monday 2 July off for Canada Day)

$80 per player for 3 days (if your player is signed up for DFX please advise what days they will attend soccer camp when registering)

Please pack a healthy snack, plenty of water and sunscreen. Shin pads and cleats mandatory.

Back by popular demand, for the 18th straight season, is the European Football School (EFS) which has rapidly earned an enviable reputation as a Soccer School of excellence. Players will be led by Saibo and his team of experienced coaches in a well-structured program of technical and tactical skills. The coaching staff of EFS have both the experience and ability for players developing their skills. *Includes an EFS t-shirt per player.

Congratulations to everyone that was able to make it out to the field yesterday to play and take in the post game treats. A SHOUT OUT to all the coaches, volunteers, referees and parents that made the day a success.

Some HOUSEKEEPING items:
A large amount of LOST & FOUND items have accumulated in the blue bin on the shed deck at MP – If you are missing an item please stop by and take a look in the bin. Items left behind will be taken to the re-use it centre after July 16th.
BLUE JERSEYS – Thank you to everyone who dropped their jersey in the bin yesterday. If you did not return your jersey, can you please DROP IT into the bin on the deck of our shed at MP (beside the lost and found).
Registration is open for the 2018/2019 Season – Register before by July 15 to enjoy early bird rates. Registration information and links can be found on our website or by clicking HERE.

COACHING NEXT YEAR – This is the first ask for volunteer coaches. If you are interested/wanting to coach next year please send me an email, including what age group.
If you are thinking about coaching but hesitate because you haven’t coached before or don’t feel like you have enough soccer knowledge to do it, I would love to speak with you.

2018/2019 Season Registration

2018/2019 Registration Information

Registration is OPEN for the 2018/2019 Season (September to June).

The ATF in Cheakamus is a go with the final contracts being awarded at the council meeting that was held on June 6. Expected opening is April 2019. We will keep our programming the same as last season until we move onto using the turf in the spring of 2019.

Soccer will start in the fall on Tuesday 4 September for midweek practices with Saturday games starting Saturday 8 September.

We have yet to confirm the two-week period in between Spruce Grove and Indoor training.

Early Bird registration – until 15 July.
Regular rate registration – until 31 August.
Late registration – until 30 September.
