In the Spirit of Giving - From Whistler to Uganda

Posted by Whistler Youth Soccer Club on Dec 14 2012 at 10:44AM PST in 2012-2013 Season

Since implementing our new uniforms last year we have been looking to donate our older uniforms to a community in need.

We have been contacted by friends of a Canadian girl, Carli, who has moved to Uganda and is now a mother to 14 Ugandan kids!

She is working on a huge project called the Abetavu Children’s Village, which when complete will not only provide a healthy, loving environment for up to 100 children, but will also serve as a hub for the local community, providing much needed access to basic health care and primary education.

Included in their plans is a soccer pitch for their kids and the surrounding village children!

WYSC is pleased to donate jerseys for 108 players, which is enough for 9 teams of various ages.

Our U11 Girls will also be signing a dozen soccer balls that will be flat packed and sent so that they can start playing as soon as possible!

Thank you for supporting your club which allows us to help support others too. Happy Holidays and know that these children will now have the opportunity to learn the ‘beautiful game’
