EXECUTIVE HEAD COACH
Thank you to Philippe Melun, who has recently stepped down as WYSC’s Executive Head Coach. He began the 2014-15 season with some new directions as suggested by the Board of Directors, and with the help of all the Technical staff, has help the club to improve and be more in accordance with BC Soccer and the Canadian Soccer Association. Jack Crompton will be stepping into the Head Coach role on an interim basis while we find Phil’s replacement.
Currently the Advisory Panel is undertaking a needs assessment and will update the Head Coach job description. Once this has been completed they will make a recommendation to the Board and then we can work on filling the position.
Any questions please don’t hesitate to email whistlersoccer@hotmail.com.
SEA 2 SKY – Teams and Sponsorship
In U13-U14 and older divisions we see many players wanting more soccer and therefore enter teams in the BCCGSL BC Coastal Girls Soccer League (girls) or 4 Districts (boys) city leagues. This allows players to play from Sept through until March and gives them a greater variety of teams to play against outside the Sea To Sky corridor.
Both PYSA and WYSC are smaller clubs and often teams have players from both clubs participating in order to have enough players to create a team. It is important that we work together for the success of our players and this gives them the opportunity to continue soccer, which is always our goal.
In the past we have had Whistler teams with Pemberton players or Pemberton teams including Whistler players; however, we recognize that it is important to represent both clubs as a whole rather than as one or the other.
Therefore WYSC and PYSA are pleased to announce that we have joined forces in order to best represent both clubs with teams participating in the city leagues. We have created a new logo and name which will be used for any of ‘our’ teams participating in either the BCCGSL or the 4 Districts League. These teams will be called Sea 2 Sky.
This year also sees the first year where rep teams have been sponsored. We are pleased to announce team sponsorship as follows and thank these companies for their generous contributions.
U13 Boys Rep – Corona Excavations
U14 Girls Rep – Sabre Excavations
U15 Girls Rep – Whistler Dental
U16 Girls Rep – Gibbons Life
U18 Girls Rep – YES Improvements

ePact and YOU
WYSC is using ePACT Network to collect emergency information which is a highly secure online emergency network, to collect medical and emergency information for all our players, instead of using paper forms. WYSC used this system last year, which means many of you will only need to review and confirm that all the information is up-to-date.
Using ePACT means we will be better prepared to deal with any emergency, big or small. ePACT provides us with more accurate, up to date and legible information than the paper forms. Because it is web-based, we have the ability to securely access the system via smartphone, tablet or computer so it’s always accessible on the field or on the road.
Privacy and security is ePACT’s top priority- their system actually meets or exceeds the same standards as most online banks. Please note that all information is stored in Canada under Canadian government privacy regulations (FOIPPA and PIPEDA).
How to use ePACT:

  • Each player’s family will receive an email invitation to use ePACT by end of August.
  • Families that used the system last year only need to accept this invite and LOG into their ePACT account.
  • Families new to ePACT will accept this invite and create an account.
  • Following a series of steps, parents enter required details, such as medical history and emergency contacts. If you have an account, information you entered last year will pre-populate, but you will have a chance to add or edit details, and accept waivers for this year.
  • Families then securely share this information with WYSC allowing coaches/managers access to their information.
  • Families can update ePACT anytime during the year, and we will automatically be alerted (e.g. add a new cell phone or new emergency contact, and we receive that update).
WYSC cares about the safety of all its players. Using ePACT means we can better connect, communicate and access information with all our players and their families.
If you have any questions about ePACT, please check out their website www.epactnetwork.com or give them a call at 1.855.773.7228.
